We have some great news, Affinda has just released a new web app with some amazing new features.

You can now add multiple users to one organization account, so you never have to share login details again. You can also logically organize documents into Workspaces and Collections within your organization account. This will allow you to reflect more accurately how you organize your work around teams, job functions, or jurisdiction. You can even restrict access to documents so only those users within your organization who need access, get access.

Our document classification model has been updated and now determines the type of document that is uploaded. It will then either route it to the correct AI model or reject the document if it is the wrong document type.

You can now change field names, mandatory fields, and auto-validation thresholds at field levels, all within the app.

You're going to love the new and improved setup and document validation experience.

Affinda has today launched a new product within our Accounts Payable suite. Our new Receipt Extractor has all the same functionality and capabilities as our Invoice Extractor, but has been tailored to work on B2C receipts. The Receipt Extractor can be used alongside the Invoice Extractor to enhance the Accounts Payable data extraction process, or standalone to speed up the employee expense claim process.

Affinda has added a new EU-based server. For our European-based customers, this means customer data never needs to leave the EU, satisfying GDPR requirements.

For our European users, you can now reach out to our sales team if you would like your data to be stored within the EU.

We're introducing a new setting that will help keep your documents organized and ensure you are only processing the same document once. With this setting enabled, Affinda will automatically reject any duplicate documents. This means that you won't process the same candidate, invoice, ID or other documents more than once to ensure the integrity of your data and minimise unnecessary credit usage.

Note, the account level setting can always be overridden at a document level when submitting via API.

We've made it easier for you to get the data you need when you need it! Now, with webhooks, you can have the data extracted by Affinda 'pushed' to you as soon as an event occurs. This means you don't have to constantly poll our API to get the information you need.

Now, Affinda can push the data to you when events occur, including:

  • Resume has completed parsing
  • Invoice has completed parsing
  • Invoice has been validated

If you would like any other events, supported feel free to get in touch with Affinda and we will make sure to set them up.

Affinda has launched on Zapier to make it even easier to integrate our document processing solutions with your existing apps. Over 5,000 apps are integrated into Zapier, opening up a world of possibilities in how you can automate document processing workflows with Affinda.

Start building a 'Zap' with Affinda here: https://zapier.com/apps/affinda/integrations

What is Zapier?

Zapier is a tool that helps you automate repetitive tasks between two or more apps all without any code or technical resources.  When an event happens in one app, Zapier can tell another app to perform (or do) a particular action.

What can I do with Affinda's Zapier integration?

Zapier automates workflows using 'Zaps'. A 'Zap' follows the simple command of "When this happens (i.e. trigger), do that (i.e. action)." Every Zap has a trigger and one or more actions. A trigger is an event that starts a Zap and an action is what your Zap does for you.

You can automate your document processing workflows and integrate Affinda into your existing systems and platforms with the following events:

  1. Upload Document (Action): Uploads a document to the Affinda platform where the data is extracted using our AI models.
  2. Document Finished Parsing (Trigger): Triggers when Affinda's AI models have completed parsing the data from a document
  3. Document Validated (Trigger): Triggers when a document has been marked as validated within Affinda's platform

Affinda's AI models are trained to assume a document only has a single instance of an invoice or other document type within it. However, often, a document will contain multiple invoices that need to be separated for the model to be effective in picking up all the relevant fields. With Affinda's new document splitting interface, separating these files is quick and simple.

When a document is split into multiple components, new files are created in your account. These new files are created with a suffix added to the file name (e.g. [filename]_1, [filename]_2, etc..).

Within the API response of the original file, users will also be able to find the identifier of the new files created, so that they can then get the data from these newly created files. The PDF file of the documents is also included in the response so that new documents created can be added to your platform.

If there are any edits made to the file, the AI model will re-parse the data to give the most accurate predictions. Any field validations made will be lost.

Edit pages

Within this interface, you can also choose to delete pages or rotate pages so that they are facing the right way up for you.

At Affinda, we know how important it is to keep your data safe and secure. As a result, we have given all users the option to enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on their accounts to ensure their data stays where it should.

To enable MFA on your account, navigate to the Settings page within the Affinda web app and set it up either using an app or via email.

We have enabled an option for users to export the data that Affinda's Resume Parser extracts from documents in HR-XML format. Customers already using HR-XML format within their platform can now seamlessly switch to Affinda without any additional mapping of data fields as part of their solution implementation.

Customers now have the choice of either:

  • Continuing to extract the data in Affinda's Resume Parser data schema in JSON, XML or Excel format, or
  • Exporting in HR-XML by specifying this within the GET /resumes/{identifier} API endpoint

HR-XML is a standardised specification designed to enable the easy exchange of data within the HR industry.
